I chose to go with them because they are a local company and monitor the system locally - evenings, weekends and holidays.I have been so pleased with the service and the response times. When I've accidentally set off the alarm, they are consistently calling me within 20-30 seconds. When cooking, the steak i was doing in the oven ended up sending out more smoke than intended ... within 30 seconds of the fire alarm going off, Telsco was on the phone, checking to make sure everything was ok.When family members accidentally forgot to disarm the system and set off the alarm, they got in contact with my emergency contact people (and tracked me down), asked if i wanted police response, and was able to remotely deal with the alarm.I upgraded my system a few years ago to allow for internet-based access - the installer was professional and took so much time to ensure that i understood what i could do and that i was comfortable with all the features and the flexibility i now have.This week, the system started sending out low battery notifications - the customer service representatives were effective, efficient and scheduled a time for a technician to come out which met my schedule. The technician arrived well inside the 2 hour window provided, called in advance to let me know he was on the way. He showed me how to replace the batteries in the motion sensors myself; gave me information on what could cause false alarms and checked/tested the rest of the system.Every time I speak with someone from Telsco, I feel like the hear, understand and do their best to resolve any issues. Our system was outdated so we needed an upgrade to wireless. Gene put together a quote that was acceptable to us and our upgrade was done by Les. We were told our install may take most of the day but Les was done in a couple hours. We threw him a couple curve balls which he hit out of the park. I had chosen them then because they were a local companyand for the duration of our relationship I was provided with excellent service. Then I moved and since the new home had an already installed product, I opted to continue that service. However, after a number of years of being part of a large international system and receiving substandard service I decided that I'd had enough. Imagine my surprise when I went online and found that not only was Telsco still in the business but they had remained a local company. I immediately contacted them. They came to my home, reviewed my existing equipment, gave me a quote and had my system converted to their service within weeks. The technicians that did the conversion were friendly, extremely knowledgeable and gave me detailed information on the change over. The contact centre people are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I f I am having trouble changing a battery they send someone out quickly to rectify the issue. For the price they offer a great service. We had a problem with one of our old sensors that was installed 25 years ago by a different security company. We had false alarms because of this sensor. Telsco sent out a tech and he diagnosed and fixed the problem in a very short time. There was no additional charge for this. I have...read moreI was with Telsco from 2010-2019 and made a switch to another home security provider for various reasons. I have never had a home security system until I originally signed up with Telsco. I switched because a friend is a dealer/rep with another company and they had a very good promotion to get a wireless system on a 2year contract. So I made the switch :::::::::::: we’ll let me tell ya the grass is NOT greener on the other side. I have had continuous system errors and nothing but trouble with this new system. I am only6 months in to the 2 year contract but am already counting down the days to return my security needs to Telsco. There’s something to be said about a company who is locally based and the ability to call in and speak with someone immediately I wish I was never convinced to leave Telsco..........as it’s the biggest mistake I’ve made when it comes to home security in 10 years!! With Telsco I never had issues and IF I did or IF I needed any service work; additions; changes. It was prompt; no waits or lengthy holds on the phone and service calls were set up quickly. Currently with new security provider calls times are an hour wait ; responses to repair are over a week to two week waits to just get a response with another week wait for appointment. I took Telsco for granted and am now paying the price; I even had my front door attempted kicked-in ironically while my new-current system (which is NOT through Telsco) while it was down for a week and I was waiting for a service call to come. Telsco was ALWAYS their for me and my family- I have already been let down by this current provider but am obligated for 18 more months. TELSCO I WILL BE BACK-IM SORRY I LEFT!read less

You will find that Telsco is on the pricier end for initial set up but worth its weight in gold. Great experience from getting a quote (the guy came on a Sunday to accommodate our schedules!) all the way through to call centre check up calls and install/service visits - they live for your service protection plan like its their home. They are also one of few companies that will work with existing systems - so keep this in mind. My only regret is wasting so much time looking at other companies - we are very lucky to have Telsco in #yeg.read less
